My experience with Himalaya Aloe and Cucumber Body Lotion
I bought it when I saw it on sale at a supermarket, and it looked like quite a steal. I have used a lot of Himalaya products before, so I was pretty sure it won’t let me down (except that one time I got a face wash from them). And boy, it did not!

Packaging & first impressions
The packaging is the standard Himalaya look: a white bottle with a green cap and printed product details. It has a basic flip cap that closes tightly. So you don’t have to worry about it leaking in your bag. The packaging is very lightweight, which makes me wonder if it is just cheap plastic.
Texture, scent and application
This lotion is packed with Aloe Vera, a popular anti-inflammatory and soothing ingredient, and Cucumber, which hydrates and cools the skin. I like using it after my shower, especially after sun exposure—I like how this cooling lotion for summer instantly soothes and refreshes my skin…
Himalaya’s body lotion has a runny, smooth consistency and a pure white color. It has a light formula that glides on easily. Plus, it’s non-sticky.
You’ll smell cucumbers in it, which is very pleasant. I can’t express how much I love it—it somehow reminds me of sweet melon! It’s not strong or overbearing, just a really pleasant scent. The fragrance doesn’t linger for long, but I wish it did.

How it feels on the skin
I like how it cools my skin. It gives your skin the fresh feeling it claims. Cucumbers hydrate skin because they’re high in water. Cucumbers also have cooling properties, which is why they’re often used to soothe puffy and tired eyes.
I’ve tried some body lotions that were sticky, and if there’s even a little, I get grossed out. Plus, sticky lotions attract dust and dirt—which is just gross (and unhygienic!).
It really does live up to its claims—my skin feels refreshed and completely non-sticky, which is a huge plus.
How it performs on my dry skin
I have dry, flaky skin, especially in the winter. Himalaya body moisturizer may not be the richest formula for very dry skin, but it does about 95% of the job.
My skin feels hydrated and fresh once I put on the lotion. It does not stay hydrated for 24 hours or so. But I have noticed that even after 13-14 hours, my skin feels soft to touch. I have never kept it on for longer than that, though.
I believe it could last longer if you don’t wash it off. And it hasn’t been a bad option for me even in the winter. It surely doesn’t stay as long as it does in other warmer months. I may have to reapply at least once a day to keep my skin from being flaky.
I once read that adding a few drops of rose water to body lotion or shampoo can boost hydration and give a glow. So I added some to my body lotion. I’m not sure if it’s making a difference, but it can’t hurt. Possibly, it’s helping.
When it comes to benefits, this lotion checks many boxes—hydration, cooling effect, affordability, and ease of use.
I’ve also tried the Himalaya Cocoa Butter Intensive Lotion, which is thicker and more suitable for winter. Compared to that, the Aloe and Cucumber variant is lighter and more summer-friendly.
What I like about it…
There are two other positives to the product: inexpensive and easily available. Easy availability often influences our product choices more than we realize.
Who would want to buy a product that is only available at very few outlets? I’ve had this problem with many products that I have bought, and it is one of the reasons why I’m always having to switch brands.
You can find Himalaya Herbals products in most shops, including the small grocery shops nearby. Plus, it is an affordable product.
What could have been better…
If there is something that I don’t like, it’s the squeeze bottle. Maybe a pump model would have made it easier to get the product. Now that I’m halfway through the bottle, I have to turn it all the way upside down and shake it well to get the product to the top.
A pump or tub model is better in case there is a larger quantity of product. The squeeze model works for smaller sizes, but not so much for the 400 ml bottle.

Himalaya Aloe and Cucumber Refreshing Body Lotion
Final Word
Overall, the Himalaya Aloe and Cucumber Body Lotion lives up to most of its claims. It’s lightweight, soothing, and refreshes the skin without feeling sticky—perfect for daily use, especially in warmer months. While my dry skin found it decently hydrating, those with very dry or eczema-prone skin might prefer a thicker, richer formula. It may need reapplication for very dry skin during winter, but it’s still an affordable body lotion in India, readily available too. If you’re looking for a non-sticky body lotion that hydrates without heaviness, this one’s worth considering.
