How To Use
- Apply to dry skin and massage gently.
- Rinse clean with water after wiping off with a cotton pad or tissue as needed.
- Follow-up with a cleansing foam to finish.
Alternatively, if you don’t wear makeup, you can massage the cleansing lotion into the skin in a circular motion. Allow it to sit for a few minutes, and then rinse with lukewarm water.
My Experience with THE FACE SHOP Rice Water Cleansing Lotion
Although the cleanser comes in a convenient dispenser, it isn’t easy to carry while traveling. The spillage risk is high, so it’s not recommended for traveling. You must use travel-sized bottles to transfer the product…which can be irritating. There is enough product in a single pump to cover one use.
The scent is amazing and feels really good on the skin. Upon application, the cleanser has a milky texture, so it feels like you are washing your face with milk — a royal experience.
Because it’s a mild cleanser, you won’t feel any irritation when massaging it on your face — great for those with sensitive skin. Using it is similar to applying a cleansing balm but with a milder action. You can wash off a good deal of makeup and dirt with this. As it is highly moisturizing, I believe it will be a no-go for oily skin as it won’t give the feeling of a clean face because it doesn’t wash off oils from the face.
With rice in it, it washes away quickly, and it gives your skin a natural glow. While I felt the glow, the cleanser has not removed any age spots, sunspots, or hyperpigmentations as it claimed, so I’m unable to comment.
So far, it’s a go-to cleanser for me in the winter (unless I find something more enticing on the shelves next time). This cleansing lotion is useful if you live in an area with little moisture in the air and experience painful breezes.

Final Word
I am not a big fan of this cleansing lotion. After I finish this bottle, I am not planning to put it back on my shelf. For those looking for a mild, moisturizing makeup remover for winter, this can be an excellent choice. Otherwise, spare yourself the expense.
If you are planning to add a moisturizing cleanser to your skincare, you can go for THE FACE SHOP Rice Water Cleansing Lotion. Also, it’s not ideal for oily skin types.
