If you have chemically straightened, keratin-treated, or just damaged hair, you know how hard it is to find a routine that cleans without stripping.
Recently, I’ve been testing the Streax Professional Canvo Line range that includes shampoo, conditioner, and serum.
After lots of research and trying it on my tricky hair (oily scalp and dry ends), I have some thoughts to share.
So, is it really a salon treatment in a bottle, or just good marketing? Here’s my honest review of Streax Professional Canvo Line Shampoo, Conditioner, and Serum.

About the product
The Streax Professional Canvo Line is marketed specifically as post-care for chemically processed hair. It claims to retain that salon straight look for 3.5x longer than regular products. It’s sulfate and paraben-free, a non-negotiable for maintaining expensive keratin or smoothing treatments. Best for straightened, smoothened, rebonded, or sensitized hair.

Ingredients
- Kera-charge complex: mimics natural keratin to patch up those weak spots.
- Baobab oil: known as the Tree of Life, it’s lighter than coconut oil but deeply hydrating, making it perfect for softening brittle ends without making scalp greasy.
- Shea butter: provides the glide needed to detangle without breakage.
- Vitamin E (in the serum): protects hair from damage and adds shine.
My Experience with Streax Professional Canvo Line
I’ve become incredibly picky about what touches my hair now.
Last year, I bought a shampoo from a famous international celebrity’s haircare line (you know the one). It promised to be gentle on my hair but left it feeling dry, brittle, and completely stripped of moisture.
That experience taught me that a famous face on the bottle doesn’t guarantee a good formulation. I became wary, skeptical, and frankly, terrified of trying new shampoos.
So, when I picked up this set, I didn’t expect miracles but decent results.
First impressions
The texture of the shampoo is creamy and white, which usually signals a moisturizing formula. Unlike some sulphate-free shampoos that refuse to bubble, this one lathers beautifully on wet hair.

The conditioner’s texture is thick. Really thick. It coats the hair strands instantly, which is exactly what you want if your ends feel like straw.
Serum is pinkish and very light in texture. It almost feels like nothing when you rub it on your palms.
If you love that ‘I just left the salon smell’, you’ll love this. The shampoo, conditioner and serum have a distinct, floral professional fragrance.
It feels luxurious in the shower, but if you’re very sensitive to fragrance, you might find this a bit strong.
How it performs on hair
Here’s where it gets interesting. I have an oily scalp but dry ends, and I live in an area with hard water, which usually leaves my hair feeling parched.
For a sulphate-free shampoo, I must say that the cleansing power is impressive. It removed the grease and buildup from my scalp effectively. Usually, gentle shampoos leave my roots feeling heavy, but this left them feeling genuinely clean.
When I used the shampoo alone, my hair felt clean and soft, but it dried frizzy. The ends felt a bit rough and difficult to manage.

However, once I applied the conditioner, the game changed. Because the conditioner is so thick, it instantly smooths down the ends, giving them the softness they deserve.
Pro tip: Be generous with the conditioner on your ends. Squeeze the excess water out of your hair first, then apply the conditioner. Leave it on for at least 3-5 minutes to let it penetrate the hair cuticle.
Now, let’s not forget an essential of this line: the Canvo Line serum.

If you have fine hair like me, you probably hate serums that feel too oily. This one is surprisingly lightweight. It has a non-sticky, watery-oil texture that absorbs instantly.
I apply a coin-sized amount to damp hair ends, before blow-drying to set the look.
Results
Once dried, my hair looked significantly straighter and smoother. I like how the shampoo and conditioner tackled the roughness.
Serum adds that final gloss coat without weighing my hair down. It’s great for controlling static and flyaways, a common issue with freshly washed, straightened hair.
My hair usually feels stiff after using a usual shampoo in hard water, but this trio made it feel nourished and healthy again. They combed through easily without the roughness and frizz and the shine lasts well for 4 days on my hair.
Now, do you need the full set?
Yes, because:
- Shampoo cleanses well but can be slightly drying on the ends if used alone.
- Conditioner gives the needed smoothness and moisture to counteract the shampoo’s deep clean.
- Serum works like the top coat that seals the moisture in and prevents that day-2 frizz.
Used altogether, they balance each other out perfectly. If you skip the conditioner or serum, you’ll likely miss out on the softness and slip that makes chemically treated hair look high-end.
Pros
- Sulfate and paraben-free
- Lathers really well (rare for sulfate-free options)
- Serum is lightweight and non-greasy
- Softens hard water-damaged texture
- Much more affordable than high-end salon brands
Cons
- You’ll need the conditioner to maintain softness
- Might be too perfumey for sensitive noses
Who should try this?
- Chemically treated hair: If you’ve done rebonding, smoothing, or keratin, it’s a must-have to maintain the treatment.
- Combination hair: It’s great for the “oily scalp + dry ends” people because it cleans roots well without weighing them down.
- Damaged hair: If your water makes your hair feel rough, the baobab oil and shea butter in this formula can help restore softness.
Streax Canvoline vs. L’Oreal Xtenso
The biggest question I see online is: Is this better than L’Oreal Xtenso, the gold standard for treated hair?
In terms of price, Streax is obviously more affordable.
When comparing moisture levels, L’Oreal Xtenso is slightly heavier/oilier. Streax is lighter.
So, if your hair is extremely dry or coarse, Xtenso might have a slight edge. But for oily scalps or fine-to-medium hair like mine, Streax is actually better because it doesn’t weigh the hair down as much.

Final Verdict
The Streax Professional Canvo Line Shampoo and Conditioner, along with serum, is a smart investment if you want to maintain your keratin, smoothing, or hair botox treatment without burning a hole in your pocket. The shampoo and conditioner give my damaged hair a lovely, healthy texture that actually lasts between washes. Serum adds the extra shine and softness. With a price point sitting comfortably between drugstore and luxury, it’s a budget-savvy win for salon-quality results at home.
