Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Foundation comes in a glass bottle with a black screw cap. I wish it had an applicator attached with a cap. It has to be handled with care to avoid accidental dropping and breaking it. However, the packaging looks stylish.

Matte + Poreless caught my attention and for my oily skin, this couldn’t be better! It is water-based and not heavy at all, unlike other foundations. Its consistency is very light. It gave me a break from my lakme foundation. It has a mild smell that isn’t overpowering.

Since this foundation comes in 6 shades, I picked Toffee Caramel 330 which seemed fit for my dusky skin but it’s actually 2 shades darker than my complexion. Thankfully, compact takes care of that. It is the darkest shade of this range. Warm Honey is also a shade for medium to dusky skin which is the second last darkest shade. I’d recommend swatching it in the store itself to find your matching shade.

I apply it after moisturizing my face and it spreads evenly. It mattifies my face and I can see my pores a bit blurred. It’s best for normal to oily skin and dry-skinned girls would have to moisturize their face adequately before application. It imparts a sheer coverage which can be built by adding layers giving a medium to full coverage. I love the fact that it looks natural. Sometimes I use it as a concealer under my BB cream and it works great that way.

Its staying power is 5 hours and if set with compact it stays for 7-8 hours. It surely is long-lasting. I’m glad that Maybelline has also catered for dusky girls this time and a foundation of their match. Thumbs up for that Maybelline! 😉

Here’s me wearing this foundation!
