Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick: Brink of Pink Review

This lipstick comes in a transparent plastic tube with a matte black cap encased in a cardboard packaging. The shade name is written at the bottom of the tube. The texture is fine – neither too thick nor too thin. I’ve used few liquid lipsticks and their texture was very patchy! It has a non-existent smell. The doe applicator is feathery, soft and bends for an easy application. It’s small so it gives a precise hold while applying.

Brink of Pink is a plum rose shade which goes towards the darker hue. It is sure to suit any skin tone. It’s more of a party wear shade. In one coat it gives a full spot on pigmentation and coverage. Two coats are just enough to cover the lips. It covers the most pigmented lips just in a swipe. It takes 30 seconds to dry. After that, it settles into a matte finish and lips feel comfortable. I always prep up my lips by scrubbing and applying lip balm and then blot it before applying this liquid lipstick. It is definitely smudge-proof, transfer-proof and date-proof. ????

Before drying, still wet!

After drying

Now talking about its staying power, it’s beyond amazing. It stays on my lips until I eat a heavy meal or something oily and after that, it fades only from the center of the lips. The lips might feel dry after few hours. It doesn’t smudge a bit even if I drink something. It takes a good oil-based makeup remover to get completely removed. I’ve noticed that even after removing it, it leaves a pinkish stain behind.

Swatches:

Pros:

  • Gorgeous plum rose shade.
  • Liquid consistency for easy application
  • Non-patchy texture
  • Feels comfortable on lips
  • Has a long-lasting staying power

Cons:

  • Lips feel dry after few hours but don’t all liquid matte lipsticks do that?
Final Word: I adore this lipstick for staying true to its claims. It’s completely matte, doesn’t smudge or budge, is transfer-proof and date-proof. This shade is perfect for party wear or anywhere you want. It has more than good staying power which makes it highly recommended! For all the matte liquid lipstick lovers, it’s a must-have lipstick that won’t disappoint you!

Have you tried any of these liquid lipsticks? Which shade did you liked the most?
