Hello lovely readers! My shampoo just got finished, and I was wondering which one should I buy next! I’ve heard a lot about TRESemme products and their efficacy of making hair appear salon treated. I haven’t tried its products before. After watching the ads and all, I thought to give their shampoo a go, so I got TRESemme Ionic Strength Strengthen & Protect shampoo. I must say I’m happy with it as it’s nice for my fine hair. Keep reading my review to know more 🙂

TRESemme Ionic Strength Shampoo comes in a black bottle with a ‘press’ open cap, which is convenient and time-saving, Just a click to open and the shampoo gets dispensed! On the front, the name and other initials are written in silver and purple font. On the back product, details and instructions are written. Packaging is simple yet professional.

My Experience: This shampoo is white in color and has a thick and creamy consistency. It smells fruity, divine, and bubble gum type. If you have used L’oreal shampoos, you know how they smell. I took a dollop (big coin-sized) for my entire hair, and it worked into a rich lather which I liked. After massaging for 2-3 minutes and leaving on for 1 minute, I washed my hair. It got rinsed away pretty quickly and cleaned my hair very well. I was surprised that there was less hair fall than before, like 4-5 strands, and that’s all!

What I was left with was silky, soft, and shiny hair! My hair smelled heavenly, but after an hour or so, fragrance disappears and can only be smelled when sniffed hair directly. It didn’t cause much frizz to my hair, so I didn’t use conditioner afterwards. They were manageable without it.It didn’t dry out my hair like other shampoos do when you use too much and wasn’t harsh either. I have an oily scalp, so it gets greasy in 3-4 days, but with this one, my hair was silky and light for at least 3 days. It claimed to give a salon performance to hair. It is true to some extent. I liked using it on my hair. I saw the ingredients list, and it contained Sweet Almond Oil and Argan oil which is great for hair. It also contains chemicals and even SLS, which I don’t bother much about as I only have to wash my hair twice or thrice a week. It made my hair appear strong, but these results are temporary unless you have a strict hair care routine.

Pros:

  • Press open cap for convenience.
  • It Lathers well and gets rinsed off without extra effort.
  • I experienced less hair fall.
  • Contains Argan Oil and Sweet Almond Oil.
  • I didn’t felt the need to use conditioner as it didn’t dry out my hair.
  • Silky, soft, and manageable hair post washing.
  • True to its claims in terms of strength.
Cons:
  • Contains a lot of chemicals, including SLS.
  • Fragrance does not stay longer.
Final Words: All in all, I liked using this shampoo. It’s mild on hair and lathers good which means it’s working on hair. You can achieve shiny and silky hair in the first use. It makes hair appear lively and bouncy. It’s great for the normal and oily scalp as it keeps grease-free for at least 3 days. So it’s a YES! Go get it. Try a small bottle before purchasing a big one.

Rating: 4.5/5 (-5 for the low staying power of fragrance)
