I don’t generally use liquid lipsticks. I’m more of a lip crayon or lipstick kind of girl. But I was also fascinated with liquid lipsticks, especially matte finish. I’m not a gloss girl! I saw many YouTubers recommend Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream, so I thought of giving it a try. After all, cream sounds better than liquid!

My Experience with Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream Shade 55
Miss Claire is an Indian brand that is offering dupes of many high-end international brands. It has become significantly popular in the Indian market as it offers quality products at affordable prices. They have almost all essential products ranging for eyes, lips, and face. Also, another plus, they are cruelty-free products.
Product:
Miss Claire’s Soft Matte lip cream has a very (very) creamy consistency that I really liked a lot. The cream is soft and lightweight that you barely feel like it is on your lips. It goes on very smoothly on your lips, sets in a few minutes to become a satin-matte finish. The creamy formula is very easy to work with. Since there is some time for it to settle down, you can easily correct any mistake you make. But this also means that you need to wait for a while before smacking your lips, talking, etc.
55 is a light mauve color that I find very flattering on both light and dusky skin tones. It is effortless to build up coverage. Two to three swipes give a very pigmented look. I usually swipe just once to get a light natural look, given the color I use. The mauve color is perfect for daily use. The range has over 60 beautiful shades. They have over 10 nudes in pink and brown tones, making it possible to find one flattering every skin tone. Such a wide range!
Packaging:
The lip cream is a dupe of NYX lip creams in packaging. The cylindrical tube has the same color as the lip cream with a black screw top. The tube is extremely light and easy to carry around. The wand has a basic shape with a doe-foot top and is very soft on the lips. Product details are printed on the tube, and the color code is given at the bottom in the form of a sticker. The product comes in a clear plastic wrapping which needs to be pulled off before use. The packaging is decent, given the price range.
Texture:
It has a very creamy texture that gives a deeply pigmented color. It is not very drying and has a hydrating base. Some other liquid lipsticks really dry out your lips and make your lips look withered. I usually apply a lip balm around 15 minutes before I put on any lip product. I follow this routine with the lip cream too. This, combined with the formula, gives a hydrated look to the lip so that you get a clean matte finish without too many lines. But even without a lip balm, it would be fine on a normal lip. I have dry, chapped lips, so I can never skip lip balms.
Wear time:
This is the one negative I have with the product. The product doesn’t last long in the sense that it transfers easily. I really wish it didn’t because I absolutely loved the cream formula. But it transfers very easily. So, it’s not going to last even halfway through dinner. It will be half gone by the time you get through a drink. That means I have to touch up 2-3 times while out, in case I want the color to stay. You can layer it over lip liner or layer translucent powder on top to make it last longer.

- Doesn’t dry out lips

Cons

- Doesn’t last long

Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream Shade 55
Final Word
I absolutely adore the lip creams by Miss Claire. I find the formula lightweight than other lip products I use, and the shade range has me falling in love. The product is lightweight and travel-friendly. It is something I love for daily use, not just special occasions. I wish that it lasted longer and didn’t smudge so easily. It is inexpensive and worth a try for certain. I’m definitely going to get it in more colors.
