Hello gorgeous!
You must have used compact at least once in your life. I did too and started with Lakme compact but as they had very limited range of shades for dusky beauties, it made me stay far away from compacts.
Recently Maybelline has launched its compact powder and it’s available in 3 shades: Pearl, Shell and Coral. I picked Coral as I have dusky skin tone.
Price and Quantity: Rs. 150/- for 8 g

Maybelline White Super Fresh Compact comes in an all white case which is sturdy and shuts with a click. Inside there’s a buff applicator which is smooth and evens out powder on face.
My Experience: Coral is the deepest shade in all 3 variants and pretty close to my complexion however it’s 2-3 shades lighter but works for me. It has a right amount of yellow undertone in it so doesn’t leave a white cast on my face. It won’t suit very deeper skin tones and in fact suit medium tones as well!
This compact has a powdery texture which is fine for me. It’s finely milled and not at all grainy. It has a mild floral fragrance which can be smelled while sniffing.
I use a powder brush for precise application. Buff is great for blending well onto the skin. After applying it my face instantly brightens up. It makes face look matte. It has a sheer to medium coverage. It gives a bit of white cast which subsequently blends into skin. Building it up more than 2 layers will make face look cakey.
It stays on my skin for 4-5 hours easily and fades a bit after that. It controls oil on face decently. It has a great staying power I must say! My face still looks fresh after few hours as if I’ve just applied compact. However, it highlights dry patches on face so moisturizing well before is compulsory. It sets on the crease of eyes which is unflattering. One has to be conscious and keep on checking face and fixing it. Overall this compact is amazing considering the price!
Pros:
● Finely milled texture.
● Keeps face oil and shine free for a longer period.
● Doesn’t leave a white cast due to the yellow undertones.
● Staying power is worth appreciating.
● Very affordable.
Cons:
● Highlights dry patches on skin.
● Sets in the crease of eye and undereye.
● Wish more shades were available to cater dusky ladies.
Final Word: It’s the best compact I’ve come across. Its texture, staying power and price is outstanding. It controls oil decently. Since it has a sheer to medium coverage you can’t expect it to cover dark spots or marks however light scars can be covered. It’s matte so moisturizing is necessary! I highly recommend this if it matches your skin shade.
Rating: 4.5/5 (-5 for highlighting dry patches and setting on crease)
