How to Use?
Post applying moisturizer, let it set on your face completely. Now, apply the Concealer in dots all over your face and then join those dots. Now, this is one way of applying the Concealer. The packaging and the entire formula looked quite interesting, and thus I went ahead with this product. And thus here follows the review of the same – Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer.
This highlighting concealer from the house of Maybelline comes in the form of slim and compact pen packaging. It comes in the form of a golden pen packaging. It comes in golden packaging, which is semi-transparent. You have to make efforts to see the amount of product left inside. You cannot see it directly.
The pen is in the form of twist-up packaging. You need to twist the pen clip so that the product comes out. At the first usage, you will need to twist the pen approx. 20 times to get the product out. But later on, from the next application, it performs completely fine. Therefore, the applicator pen is convenient for travel.
Another fault with the packaging is that there is no way to control the amount of product dispensed with neither you can get it back. So, a lot of product wastage.
Coming to the concealer, it is creamy in texture and is light golden in color. It comes in 3 shades – Buff, Ivory, and Honey only, which is not apt looking for the wider range of skin tones.
The darkest shade in the concealer range – Honey I’m using is good for medium complexion girls. Other two shades – Buff and Ivory are mostly for western girls. It’s sad to see there wasn’t any shade for dusky skin beauties.
The concealer is a bit thick, so you need to make extra efforts in blending. Also, the excess amount will not get blended and will leave a whitish cast which looks very unhealthy. But if you are successful in blending it, the skin looks very natural and perfect for special occasions. It stays on a for a good amount of time on the face for, say, 6-8 hours. It also controls sweat for a longer time.

This highlighting concealer is good if you’re a beginner at highlighting and concealing. It stays for a decent amount of time and has a great texture. This will give you a feel and hold of how to use highlighters at an affordable price. It would have been a perfect highlighter for me if there were more shades.
I don’t like the packaging of the product. The twist up doesn’t work properly sometimes. Loved your detailed review.
