Maybelline Baby Lips Spiced Up Lip Balm Tropical Punch – Review

Maybelline Baby Lips Spiced Up Lip Balm Tropical Punch

Baby Lips by Maybelline has been favorite of many girls including me. I have used their variants like Berry Crush, Pink Lolita and Anti Oxidant Berry (find the review HERE). Now, it was time for something different.

They have come up with all new spiced up range which consists of 3 variants and I got Tropical Punch which was one of them. These lip balms are way more pigmented than the previous Baby Lips and are specially designed for Indian sun-kissed skin tones. So, today I am going to review it here.

My Experience with Maybelline Baby Lips Spiced Up Lip Balm Tropical Punch

I spotted this baby when I went to the chemist for purchasing Multani mitti. I had no idea when they were launched so I was a bit skeptical before buying it. After searching on the net, I was sure that I’m going to buy this shade – Tropical Punch. It’s a bit pricey than previous range but I finally purchased it.

Its packaging is twist-up, same as the previous one except for a white label of Maybelline is there on its neck.
The lip balm is in dark berry color which looks intense and claimed to be more pigmented than previous Baby Lips. It smells sweet and different.

When I applied Maybelline Baby Lips Spiced Up Lip Balm Tropical Punch, it gave me a hint of dark pinkish berry color and whoa! It was so much pigmented and made my lips look pretty. I can walk out anytime wearing this as it contains SPF 20.

My lips felt instantly moisturized, hydrated and didn’t felt waxy at all after applying. I must say that its quality is improved. It provides a decent pigmentation and if you’re not much of a fan of lipsticks, then this is the thing for you. Two swipes and there you go.

I’m so loving this lip balm. It survives drinking water but fades away after eating sessions. Moving on to its claim of 12-hour moisture, it doesn’t hydrate lips more than 4 hours. Although, when I apply it at night, I wake up with soft and kissable lips. 😉

Swatches:

Left: 1 swatch; right: 3-4 swatches. Don’t know why they’re looking lighter in swatches but actually they are very much pigmented.

Pros:

  • Improved quality compared to the previous version.
  • Treats chapped lips and hydrates well.
  • Good pigmentation.
  • Non-waxy smooth texture.
  • Contains SPF 20.

Cons:

  • The 12-hour moisture claim sounds weird as it only stays for 4 hours.
  • The price is hiked

Final Word

I think this new range of spiced up baby lips is the best thing ever. It is so much pigmented and suits every skin tone. It will also look good in pigmented lips. Moreover, it has SPF too which makes it unique. Though it’s pricey than earlier ones, they are worth buying. So grab it now and you won’t be disappointed!
