A Hair Brush That Saved My Hair ft. GUBB Oval Vent Hair Brush

Heat, humidity, and hard water often turn my hair into a frizzy, unmanageable mess — and anyone with similar hair struggles knows how annoying that can be.

I’ve always been a comb person, mainly because traditional brushes used to pull out way more hair than I was comfortable with. So, I avoided them.

But recently, while browsing Amazon for a good wooden comb, I spotted the GUBB Oval Vent Hair Brush.

The French hues-inspired color instantly caught my eye: it looked unique, aesthetically pleasing, and different from the usual drugstore brushes. After reading a few reviews, I decided to give it a shot.

My Experience with GUBB French Hues Oval Vent Hair Brush

Right out of the box, the design felt fresh and a bit Pinterest-y.

I expected the color to be a bit lilac, but it turned out to be a pale, calming blue (still elegant and minimal though).

The oval, vented body and soft nylon bristles make it look extra stylish. The bristles feel gentle on my scalp: they’re bendy, soft, and don’t scratch or tug.

I found the handle ergonomic, and it fit snugly in my hand. Since it’s lightweight, it’s easy to move around while brushing.

I have fine, straight hair type that tends to get super frizzy, especially after washing. My regular comb would get stuck midway, and brushing was a chore.

But this GUBB brush glides through my strands, detangles without pulling, and makes my hair look sleek, smooth, and neat. Without using any hot tools, my hair appears straighter.

Even on the dreaded hair wash day, when tangles are at their worst, this brush handles them effortlessly.

I noticed minimal hair fall: just 3 to 4 strands after brushing, which is honestly a huge win.

Now, I know we’re not supposed to brush wet hair, but I did a little test (for you). I ran the hair brush through damp hair and …noticed a bunch of hair fall out. Don’t ever try this.

So, I wouldn’t recommend regular brushing on wet hair. Use a wide-toothed comb or wait till it’s semi-dry.

Although I haven’t used it with a blow dryer yet, I can see how it could work beautifully with the heat.

The vented design allows hot air to pass through, which helps in quicker drying and smoother styling, something several reviewers have pointed out as well.

Final thoughts

If you dread brushing hair because of tangles, knots, or just stubborn frizz, this brush might just make everything effortless.

The GUBB Oval Vent Hair Brush does what most brushes or combs don’t: detangles without tugging, reduces hair fall, smooths and tames hair, and most of all, feels incredibly gentle on the scalp.

It’s not the cheapest brush out there, but in my opinion, it’s worth the spend. This one has earned a permanent spot in my haircare routine now.
