Elle 18 has been a favorite brand, especially for young girls. I’ve tried their nail pops range and loved it. They recently launched Color Boost lipsticks that claimed to be better than the previous range in terms of pigmentation and staying power. I’ve bought Hollywood Pink shade 07 from the range. Let’s see how it fared for me.

My Experience with Elle 18 Color Boost Hollywood Pink Lipstick
Elle 18 Color Boost Lipstick in Hollywood Pink comes in a cute neon pink cap with a black base. Lipstick has a dual-core format with an orange-colored center which is tinted as well. Packaging is sturdy and shuts tight, so no need to worry and toss without thinking into the purse. Details about shade are printed on the back of the lipstick.
After a lot of searching, I bought this shade, Hollywood Pink. As the name suggests, chic and girly, shade is beautiful too. It’s reddish pink but towards the pink side more, with silver shimmers. I don’t like shimmers, but I love this shade!
It’s damn pigmented, in fact, much more than previous ones. One swipe covers whole lips and glides smoothly. I adore its creamy finish that settles into semi-matte after a while, but silver shimmers make it appear a bit glossy. It also settles in fine lines and accentuates them. I have pigmented lips, and it takes care of it. Two swipes cover pigmentation very well. It will flatter every skin tone and even brighten up dark/dusky beauties.
I love the chocolatey smell of cocoa, which lingers for few minutes. Lipstick is very moisturizing, and I don’t need any lip balm beneath it.
Talking about its staying power, it stayed on my lips for at least 3-4 hours, and after that, it started fading but shimmers never seem to fade. It survives drinks, but after a full meal, it fades a bit. Nobody could complain at this price. I once applied lip balm under it, and due to this, it faded quickly, so I didn’t use it next time. Its quality and texture appeal me!

- Leaves lips moisturized, and cocoa smells lovely.
- Staying power is improved.
Cons
- Availability. It’s there in stores but not easily available online. Even if you find them, shades will be limited, so I recommend purchasing them from stores.
- Silver shimmers bother me. Not a con for everyone but for me, it is.
- Accentuates fine lines but scrubbing lips before applying will help.
Final Word: I’m glad I got this lipstick from Elle 18. It’s pigmented, stays longer, moisturizes lips, smells good, and the price won’t affect your purse too. This range has mind-blowing shades, and I’m looking forward to getting more and review them for you all 🙂
