Hello and happy Gandhi Jayanti to you! It’s a holiday finally after some busy weekdays and it means that I should post without any excuses lol 😛 How have you been, girls?
I’ve been using Biotique Bio Dandelion Ageless Serum for at least a month, and I think it’s the right time to share my experience in this review! Keep on reading…
What does it claim? This lightening serum is a rare combination of pure dandelion, rich in vitamin E and minerals, blended with nutmeg oil. Used regularly, it helps brighten skin, fades dark spots and eases away wrinkles for a flawless complexion.
Price: Rs. 230/- for 40 ml (also available in a bigger size)
Ingredients:
Packaging: It comes in a usual Biotique packaging, i.e., cylindrical plastic bottle with dark green screw cap. Inside there’s a stopper with a hole to dispense serum, but that’s not convenient at all because serum doesn’t come out until I press the bottle. All in all, I need to be careful while dispensing to control the amount.
My Experience: I bought this serum because of its claims to – lighten dark spots, brighten the complexion and work on wrinkles (which is not my concern). This serum has a very, very light consistency and smells strongly of herbs. The smell is strong but fades after application. It is non-sticky and non-greasy. I need a pea size amount for the entire face and it spreads evenly since it has a liquid consistency. It sinks into the skin in seconds. I feel a cool and soothing sensation on my face post-application. My skin looks hydrated, refreshed and bright. Though having oily skin, my skin never felt oily at all. Note that for dry skin, it can be drying, so moisturizer is a must. After using this serum, I carry on with my usual skincare routine. Here comes the scary part – after using it day and night for few days, breakouts appeared on my face. I couldn’t figure out the reason and hence I stopped using it. It didn’t break me out every time but eventually, which was painful as well.
As per the claims, it didn’t do any wonder to my skin. I couldn’t see any effect after 1 and a half months of usage, but as a serum, it worked better; it made my skin radiant and evened out complexion for a while but that was a temporary effect. It was an anti-aging serum and I’m in my twenties; I’ll better give it to my mom, and she’ll get the more benefit of it since she has wrinkles. I liked this serum a lot, but breakouts are something I can’t neglect! 🙁

Pros:
- Natural and chemical-free product.
- Light, non-greasy texture that absorbs into the skin.
- Brightens up complexion after application.
- Evens out skin.
- Suits all skin types.
- A little amount is needed, so it goes a long way.
- Not heavy on the price tag.
Cons:
- Bothering a strong smell but fades after few minutes.
- Broke me out eventually.
- No long-term benefit.
Final Word: It’s not the best of a serum but isn’t too bad either. It gives a cool effect, radiance and evenness on the face after application. If you have acne/pimple-prone skin, then it’s not for you. It suits all skin types, except I’m doubtful about oily ones as it broke me out. One can get benefit if used it for a longer span of time.
